WHAT IS SAFFRON?
It is far more than just a lussebullekrydda.
Saffron comes from the flower Crocus Sativus, commonly known as the "saffron crocus". Saffron is the most expensive spice in the world, but then again, each flower is picked by hand and from every flower we get the beautiful saffron pistils.
The name Saffron originates from the arabic word 'zafran' wich means "make yellow". The characteristic yellow color comes from the substance crocin and the flavor from the saffron oil.
Not only is saffron perfect for cooking, it is also serotonin enhancing. It helps with sleeping problems and has a calming effect against stress. Increases the sexdrive and is stimulant for both lust and erection.
A true must have in the kitchen.
